What We Do
Our office provides the following services:
- Oversight of postdoctoral searches, appointments, and records*
- Postdoc advising, academic and professional development resources
- Mentor support and consultations
- Process and policy guidance for departmental administrators
- Programmatic, strategic, and/or administrative support for early career investigator programs.
*Hospital-employed postdoctoral positions are managed through the hospital employer, and academic affiliations may be obtained through Biomed Faculty Administration.
The Office of BioMed Postdocs and Early Career Programs also provides a variety of programs and resources for early career researchers and faculty mentors.
Biomed is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse and talented community of postdocs at Brown.
Our office also works closely with campus partners, some examples include:
- Office of University Postdoctoral Affairs- Postdoc Appreciation Week activities, Postdoctoral Research Symposium, Quarterly Welcome Events
- Biomed Office of Graduate Studies- Career Development activities, Training Grant preparation
- Advance-RI CTR- Programs for developing early career faculty
- Biomed Faculty Administration- Alignment of practices and policies in the Division
- Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity- Alignment with diversity and inclusion efforts of the University
