In addition to the standard 30 minute advising/mentoring consultations, Dean Van Wart also offers limited weekly 1 hour Leadership and Performance Coaching sessions for faculty and postdocs at no cost to them.
Distinct from mentoring or advising, the coaching approach empowers individuals to set their own direction and make meaningful changes through inquiry, reflection, and accountability. The role of the coach is to collaboratively explore and create plans of action with the individual they are coaching.
