Early career Mentorship for Enhancing Research Grant-writing Excellence (EMERGE)
EMERGE is jointly sponsored by Brown's Division of Biology and Medicine and Advance RI-CTR. The program entails 8 months of in depth coaching of junior faculty by senior faculty mentors. Junior faculty are paired with experienced PIs who provide advice and guidance toward preparing a first NIH R-series application. There are regular monthly sessions, opportunities to attend grant writing workshops, and individualized mentor meetings as needed.
The program is in its pilot year, with a cohort of 4 mentees and 2 mentors from the Program in Biology, that meet all together or in pods (2 mentees per mentor).
